I would just like to open up this topic:
I don't know about the rest of you, but as I started out watching Game of Thrones and am reading the books just now (starting with book 1, long while to go before I am introduced to book-Ramsay), I am going to base the fanfiction that I write strictly by myself (not necessarily including co-written or RP'd works, now) off the show since it seems that the info I got from the wiki article about Ramsay alludes to plot involving him being taken in an entirely different direction, so drastically that the Ramsay we see in GoT almost seems to be a different character than the one from the books.
Sure, there are correlations enough, but the differences present a 'stark' contrast, to say the least.
So going just with what I know of Game of Thrones Ramsay so far, I am forced to compensate by filling in some background for him that seems appropriate... there are likely to be some discrepancies that people won't like. I am resigned to this until I think of a better solution. Once I complete the books, it will be easier to present a more well-rounded Ramsay that is true to both the television show and his original form.
I am thinking of how this will have an effect on the tagging system of the fanfiction.. I noticed that everyone who seems to write strictly about events/circumstances only from Game of Thrones also tag their fics with "A Song of Ice and Fire", understandably to draw in interested readers.
Perhaps an appropriate tag to go along with that (that I could use myself at least) would be 'GoT-verse' and maybe people would understand the implied meaning?
Yah, I needed to bring this up cuz I got Thramsay fic in the works. What will my tags beee? ha ha, I know it will all be good but I am open to suggestions or whatever may be forthcoming.
Peace, all.... Unless you want to be flayed!! Ha ha ha, jk
EDIT: I have found a good balance for character writing. And I guess I will just use all tags like everyone else. However, if anyone else has had a similar issue I would still be open to discussion about it and be happy to explain what worked for me.
